At The Old Lady, Del Piero held the club records for game appearances and most goals, standing at 705 and 290 respectively.
At the international level, Del Piero represented Italy in seven major tournaments in the FIFA World Cups and UEFA European Championships between 1996 and 2008. Del Piero left Juventus in 2012 and ventured overseas for two seasons at the Australian and Indian leagues. Australia’s A-League got a boost when he signed for them, helping to bring the league to higher prominence. Del Piero did not disappoint with a return of 24 goals in 48 games for Sydney FC. He eventually hanged up his boots at an age of 40.
