Nicknamed the Galloping Major, the left-footed Ferenc Puskás was one of the most prolific strikers in football history, having an incredible goal record that is almost impossible to break in modern days. In the three clubs he played in his entire career, Puskás scored a total of 515 goals in only 533 games. For Hungary, Puskás had 84 goals in 85 caps, an amazing ratio of almost a goal per international game.

Puskás was part of the legendary Real Madrid team that dominated the sixties. He won four Pichichi (Spain top scorer) while helping Real Madrid claimed five consecutive La Liga titles from 1960 to 1965. He also twice the top scorer in the European Cup tournament, winning the prestigious trophy in 1959, 1960 and 1966.

After retirement in 1966, Puskás tried out management and took charge of a dozen clubs in almost 25 years before managing his beloved Hungary in 1993. He died of pneumonia in 2006.
