One of the world’s best wingers in the 2000s and early 2010s, Arjen Robben’s famous signature move was to dribble via the right flank, and then cut inward near the edge of the penalty box to score a brilliant goal with his left foot.
Playing for three major clubs – Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, Robben won multiple league titles and most of the domestic cups in the top three European leagues. He also laid his hands on the prestigious Champions League trophy with Bayern Munich in 2013.
For Holland, Robben led his nation within reach to being crowned the world champion in the 2010 and 2014 World Cups, finishing an agonising second and third place respectively. For his splendid performances, he was awarded the FIFA World Cup Bronze Ball in 2014.
