Liverpool and Welsh great Ian Rush was well-remembered for his goals and iconic mustache. For Liverpool, he was the club’s all time top scorer, with 346 goals in 660 games in both domestic and European competitions. Rush was part of the famous Liverpool squad in the eighties, one of the greatest teams in English football history, that swept five league titles and two European Cups.

Although Wales did not have much successes on the international stage, Rush nevertheless was one of the most important players in the national team. Despite the many disappointments on the world stage, Rush played for Wales for over 15 years, and his 28 international goals was a record for more than two decades until it was overtaken by Gareth Bale in 2018.
