Nine league titles, four Champions League, two European Championships and one World Cup. This amazing haul of trophies made Andrés Iniesta one of the most decorated players in football history.
Graduated from Barcelona youth academy in 2002, Iniesta blossomed to become one of the finest midfielders in the world. Together with comrade and teammate Xavi, they formed a world class partnership in the midfield for both Spain and Barcelona, which the nation and club, benefited from their slick passing and playmaking, dominated the football scene in the 2000s and 2010s.
Ranked fourth in Spain’s all-time appearances, Iniesta’s most important goal for his country was perhaps his stunning winner against Holland in the 2010 World Cup final. The winning goal helped Spain clinched its first ever World Cup trophy. For his outstanding performances that season, Iniesta came in second in the Ballon d’Or.
